Managed as a mixed-farming operation producing beef, prime lamb, wool and grain/dual purpose fodder crops. The arable area is sown down to perennial pastures, including Lucerne and Phalaris based pastures. The pasture program is supported each year with grain and graze crops, including wheat, canola and oats.

The property is extremely well watered with connection to town water, a fully-equipped ground bore feeding 6 troughs on concrete pads. There are also dams scattered across the property.

In an average season the estimated carrying capacity of Jakara is approximately 10-11 DSE per hectare.

The soil type ranges between granite soil and podsol. Podsol is simply defined as loamy topsoil overlying clay-based subsoil. The acidic soils have been bolstered by a comprehensive liming program. MAP is applied at 85-100kg/ha to all crops.

Approximately 594.6mm annually.

Features the 3-bedroom double-brick home, with 2 bathrooms (inc. ensuite) and 2 separate living areas. The house in on town water, while the garden runs on bore water. Solar panels on the house offset the bore power bill.

Since 2015 Jakara has undergone a massive re-development programme focussed on targeted drainage, soil amelioration, fencing (inc. laneways) and tree planting. Structural improvements include a workshop, machinery shed and shearing shed.
